Strangely, I never did this.

Mostly, I didn't do anything at all. I had a kind of a gift for getting on-the-spot extentions.

I remember a time in HS, we had a term that ended with a week of spring break. I had four papers due in an English class the last day of class, papers that were already late. A friend was in a similar boat. We got an extension until the first day of the next term, then over the break we each wrote two papers, traded, then paraphrased the other's work. I think I got a C in the class, maybe even a D, but I passed.

Yeah... some parents fall into that trap. But I'd rather have my kids get an honest C or D rather than an A that they didn't really earn themselves.
